| Welcome to our site, and we hope you will enjoy and benefit from the content. The object of the print is to raise funds for the St.Andrews Church Development Fund. This fund is used to keep the 950 year old church in good repair, and tend the graves of those Royal Air Force men who gave their lives for our freedom.
In 1940, the first American citizen to perish in our defence, was returning to RAF Tangmere, his aircraft in flames. He landed on the airfield but, Pilot Officer Billy Fiske succumbed to his wounds, and is buried in the nearby churchyard in St. Mary's and Blaise churchyard, Boxgrove, about half a mile away from Tangmere. Please help us look after and honour the memory of these young men. You can either order a print by printing out the order form, or by emailing your enquiry to us at spitfires@tangmere-airfield.co.uk Thank you |
